Tips on getting people to verify email?

On my blog page I have it underlined and in red font "DON'T FORGET TO GO TO YOUR EMAIL AND CLICK THE LINK" it still doesn't seem to work. Any tips on this? Should I emphasis it several times throughout my article?

I'm starting to think that incomplete registrations are just a cost of doing business. If you have to be that "hands-on" with people just to get them to finish signing up, I'm doubtful about how productive they're going to be as far as actually completing offers. I'm just hoping for one or two serious "Go-getters" who really take to the site and put in the effort... -Z
