An Amazing Article I just read!

"Anonymous" don't care about child pornography. They only care about disturbing people's lives and upsetting things. Some of the various things they do have an upshot, such as disabling such websites, but other times, like when they themselves upload pornography on children's entertainment YouTube channels?Or their "raid" on a epilepsy support website?What noble heroes.

They do it simply to mess with people. They don't really believe in the "good cause" - if they can bait a pedo on Yahoo Chat, find his Facebook page and then message his friends, co-workers, neighbours, telling them all about it - they're not doing that to protect a child or right a wrong- they're doing it to ruin somebody's life. Regardless of whether or not you think it's right or fair to do so, you'd be foolish to think they're not maliciously enjoying every second of what they're doing.

The more hypocritical members (i.e. the 13 year olds) of Anonymous will parrot the same party line nonsense (bolded for your enjoyment) that they hear from others, like below, as justification:

i think the nay sayers dont really know what anonymous even is. it seems like most people get all of their information from fox and then spew about nonsense thinking theyre displaying incredible ingenuity. anonymous is not a maliscious group. its a collective conscience, an idea created by the internet, that exhibits true democracy (aka the american ideal.) they attack those that seek to destroy our fantastic country, as well as the tyrants that run totalitarian regimes that take away civil freedoms from their people. dont believe everything you see on tv, you forget who runs the netwroks

Not trying to be mean in anyway here guys, but you have apparently not done your research. There are 2 branches of Anonymous. The ones that basically fight for a rights and our privacy and do things like what this article talks about, and then there is the other group that branched out from the original that does the hacking, and terrorizing.. And there's the other usual excuse; the "you don't understand what Anonymous is" gambit, usually played by the cowardly members of Anonymous who have been snared in the headlights of hypocrisy. If you've ever listened to an interview with one of them (there was a very amusing one on the BBC World Service a year or so back with "Hamster"), when confronted by the interviewer on being part of a group that does horrible, mean-spirited and cowardly acts of computer vandalism and harrassment, begin to stutter and stumble over the party line about fighting for "privacy and rights." They'll completely ignore all the illegal and degenerate stuff they've done when it suits them (i.e. when little wittle anony-monymous makes it onto the BBC because it validates their ego). Their ideas of politics come from watching Fight Club too many times, or reading the Wikipedia article on Industrial Society and Its Future, and only crop up out of a moral self-righteousness to crash a web server, black fax a bunch of numbers they got from some corporate website and make a bunch of phone calls to a confused company switchboard operator.

If you honestly believe these people care about "rights" - you're having a laugh. Even if they did care, they're no better than the online equivilent of the 70s eco-terrorists. After all, they wore masks too. jimfish

if either of you thought you were having a good laugh at some kid that was wanting to join some fan club you were wrong. I simply posted an article on P2S that I wanted to share with others that I enjoyed, not so people could hate on it and tell me how wrong the people in the article were in it.
