Once you have a site set up and have researched and found ways to promote your ref link that are profitable, alot of people make the mistake of thinking there is no more to do. This happens most with people who have their own sites. Google and other engines are changing constantly. You need to look at your competitors and improve on what they lack and get a niche down with a good website. Valuable content is huge, seo is a big part but not near as heavy anymore as it once was. The best advice has already been said do some research and read seo guides, get all the knowledge that you can as a basis and go from there.
