They didn't change the game at all, they just put it on a different more recent system so people can enjoy it again or for the first time. also, Ocerina of Time, Majora's Mask, and Orcale of Ages/Seasons are my favorites.

They've already confirmed that they are working on 2 new titles, One of which is definitely for the 3ds, the other is speculated to be on wiiU There are rumours of 2 zelda titles for the 3ds, to be released simultaneously and be similar to the oracle games Nintendo said ages ago that they don't have plans to remaster any of the older games right now but they're not ruling it out entirely...

Skyward, Ocarina and Majoras' are the only 3 games which have sequel/prequel layout and have a definitive place in the supposed time line. Zelda II AoL was intended as a sequel, but it's just assumed as it was the second release. The Oracles were designed to run parallel to eachother, within the same time, so that the events of one coincided with the events of the other. Funnily enough, there was supposed to be a 3rd Oracle game, to represent Farore but it was never released.....
